This year's Spiral is quite a different beast. We have about fifty
people attending with no Spiral truck, no Big Evil Generator and no
rented chill tent. See the details in this year's

The fee this year is $40. (That's nearly 40% off last year! :-) And $50
if I don't hear from you and it's collected after the start of the
event, i.e. on the playa or post-BM. If I hear a commitment before the
event or you're already on the playa as of 21 Aug 2001, that's fine -- I
know it's last minute.
One of the unfortunate things about Paypal is they actually want a
commission on payments which I'd rather avoid since a) the money is best
kept in spiral b) it requires linking it to a bank account and some
additional bureaucracy that is too much to deal with at this point.
A side effect of this year's amazing efforts with getting things to the
playa without having to hire our own truck is that the budget didn't
really firm up 'til less than a week before BM itself! This means I need
to collect fast. To cut down my load on this I'm asking for
someone in each of the group to collect of behalf of the whole group
-- this is basically what happened last year with the cells. Please
email me on this ASAP ideally cc:'ing the others in your group and
with any luck this'll be super smooth and hassle-free, and I'll be
very grateful indeed!
